The Monorail
A Fun and Unique Way to Travel Around Disney World
Walt Disney World's monorail transportation system has been in operation since 1971. The system is 13.6 miles long total- and it carrys over 150,000 guests to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot parks every day. Each monorail train has a capacity of 365 passengers and air conditioning to keep guests comfortable.
The current monorail loop runs between Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, and the Transportation and Ticket Center. To get to Epcot, a connecting monorail must be taken from the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Strollers are permitted on the monorail and there are ramps to all areas, with ample room in all of the cars to fit the stroller and your entire party, depending on how full the car already is.
