Description
Disney's Port Orleans Resort is a hotel with 2048 rooms modeled after rural Louisiana, and the Sassagoula River. It is a beautiful hotel, set on stunning and picturesque grounds. Rooms are in one of 2 sections. The white-columned mansions of Magnolia Bend and the quaint cottages of Alligator Bayou.
The main lobby is named The Colonel's Cotton Mill, contains couring columns and a high ceiling. The inspiration for the main lobby is a steamship ticket station. The Colonel's Cotton Mill contains a ship called Fulton's General Store, the Riverside Mill food court, Boatright's Dining Hall (a sit down restaurant featuring cajun specialties), the River Roost Lounge, and an arcade.
One of the more interesting features of this resort is Ol' Man Island - which contains an elaborate pool complex, a wooden playground, and an old fashioned fishing hole - all surrounded by a bend of the Sassagoula River.
The Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a short walk along the river from the Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.
