Description
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorite resorts in Walt Disney World. The beauty and serenity of this resort is without equal. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is situated on a 33-acre wildlife preserve and is a lodge-styled, African Resort. The resort consists of architecture inspired by Africa, and is designed in a semi-circle which provides wonderful views of the surrounding savannah and the animal which inhabit it.
Arusha Rock, right outside the main lobby is an elevated platform that affords expansive views of the grounds and savannah, as well as close-up views of the many animals. You will be immersed in the feel of an African plain as you toke in the animals, the African grasses and shrubs, and the canopy trees symbolic of Africa; the copperpod.
Some of the animals roaming freely on the preserve are: Thompson's Gazelle, East African Crowned Crane, Ruppel's Griffon Vulture, Anikole Cattle, Eland, Greater Kudu, Impala, Reticulated Giraffe, Bongo Blesbok, Pink-Backed Pelican, Ostrich, and Marabou Stork.
The grounds are divided among 3 'Savannahs'; the Sunset savannah, the Uzima savannah, and the Arusha savannah. You can observe the savannahs and their inhabitants from alcoves with glass windows which are situated throughout the resort, walking paths and sections of the 'backyard' of the resort, and also from the balconies of certain guest rooms.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge also offers deluxe villas. The Jambo House villas start at $269/night+tax for a standard villa during Value Season.
Disney's Animal Kingdom villas are located in two areas. The Jambo House Villas are located on the 5th and 6th floors of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge's main building.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House offer the same wonderful amenities as the main resort.

Disney's Animal Kingdom villas are located in two areas. The Kidani Village Villas are located in a series of buildings which extend outward from either side of the main lobby of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, in the shape of the horns of a water buffalo.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village offer the same wonderful amenities as the main resort.
